Publication Date so close for...
TWO WOLVES PRESS IS THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THE UPCOMING PUBLICATION OF ACCLAIMED POET CATHERINE GRAHAM’S DEBUT NOVEL
QUARRY
“We all carry a quarry within us,” says Graham, “this subterranean place, as we make our way through the present.”
Quarry is a book written out of necessity, which fuels this heart-felt novel with life. Graham’s prose and the story behind the story are equally compelling, and what Two Wolves is all about – the novel and the person behind it all.
Set in southern Ontario during the 1980’s, Quarry is layered like the open-pit mine for which it is named. Caitlin Maharg, an only child, lives in a house by a water-filled limestone quarry whose gothic presence is elemental to the story. Lyrically charged, jewelled with images and at times darkly comic, Graham’s prose weaves a mysterious and hypnotic tale of loss, secrets, family shame and the courage to swim the depths of life alone.
Catherine Graham is the author of five acclaimed poetry collections, including Her Red Hair Rises with the Wings of Insects, a finalist for the Raymond Souster Poetry Award. She was the winner of the IFOA’s Poetry NOW. While living in Northern Ireland, Graham completed an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University. Quarry is her first novel. www.catherinegraham.com

Spring is in the air...
So many exciting things happening with Two Wolves Press folks. Watch for news of author Aileen Santos and her beautiful novel Someone Like You and for the May launch of Quarry by Catherine Graham and news of Joe Vermaire's Nine Wire Road and the reprint of my late brother Graham Leggat's sci-fi novel The Western Gate! So much on the horizon!
Met with the great John De Jesus today at Coach House Press to talk paper and print runs and deadlines for Catherine Graham's debut novel Quarry!
And the wolves themselves are getting prepped to make an appearance at one of our upcoming events! I promise they will not be reenactingThomas Blanchard's amazing shot of them having words here! They will bring their more docile side. One hopes!

Happy New Year
2017 proves to be a great year for Two Wolves and its authors. We've done a bit of switching around in publishing schedules - this is my press, I can do that, one of the many beauties of the DIY publishing life.
Next out of the gate this year will be poet Catherine Graham's debut novel Quarry!
We have a publishing date of May 2017. Everything is on track and we're brewing with excitement - the stable of writers grows book by book and Joe Vermaire's novella Nine Wire Road will be joining the ranks soon - so watch for these exciting stories.
Aileen Santos' novel Someone Like You continues to fly off the shelf at Indigo, and she's working super hard delivering books for us to keep it in stock. We are going into a second printing soon and I'm excited about the slight changes to its look,
I'm diligently traipsing up and down the crazy distribution avenue to make it easier for you all to access our books. Because I am such a small press, there are so many walls not doors to contend with, but I'm no stranger to that in this business - so, like rain, Two Wolves Press books will find a way into our desired structures.
Readings, readings, readings coming up this year too. Now I can send my crew out together and I can't wait.
Stay tuned for more news as the year progresses. This is the year of the rooster and The Wolves are making noise with it!
Here's a sneak peak of Catherine Graham's Quarry coming together step by step - can you judge a book by its cover?

Reader's Review
Two Wolves just received a great email from a reader who wanted me to share her review of Aileen Santos' Someone Like You with you. Thank you Maria!
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel - shocking and thought provoking, creatively crafted to intertwine the individual stories of mother and child, and vividly presenting a unified story of the difficulties of love and relationships. In this story, the mother describes how she feels about a book - "I felt the words in layers around me, they reached out to pluck me out of my reality." When reading #someonelikeyou, I shared this same feeling.
